SHE WAS ON GENE SIMMONS’ ‘FAMILY JEWELS’—NOW SHE SELLS MERCH AT NAZI METAL SHOWS

Support LCRWLesson number one: when sending LCRW angry hate-filled emails about our reporting, it’s probably best not to use your legal name, or a personal email and, maybe, don’t send two of them.
If you can’t do the first two, you should, especially, not try the third. But, alas, Cindy Reyna—the current romantic partner of neo-Nazi Kyle Powell of K.E.P. Productions—wasn’t so wise when she sent two emails on the night of Oct. 18. The emails, with the subjects “Pussy!!!” and, the creatively named, “Pussy email #2,” were sent in response to our most recent reporting on Powell’s planned “Autumn Equinox Festival” in Ontario, CA on the 26th—where LCRW discovered she’ll be selling merchandise.
However, in sending those two emails, Reyna allowed LCRW to uncover numerous connections between herself, Powell and the Nazi metal scene that, otherwise, would have likely remained unknown. Aiding our research was the fact that Reyna is a minor celebrity within the Raider Nation—the diehard, often costumed, and face-painted, fanbase of the Oakland Las Vegas Raiders—and a musician who has fronted both symphonic metal bands and a KISS tribute act.
Outside of her life in entertainment, it appears through social media posts that she has, or still does, work in the medical field with a focus on phlebotomy. In one post from January 2020, Reyna posted a selfie, tagging Providence St. Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank, California as the location.
The Raiders Superfan in a KISS Tribute Act
In October 2013, Reyna—with her then-fiancé John Silva, a.k.a. “El Cucuy”—was featured in ESPN the Magazine’s “Raider Nation: Behind The Makeup” photo essay highlighting some of the fanbase’s most recognizable characters in the San Francisco Bay Area. The two photographs show the pair both in character and out. The pair later split and it does not appear that Silva shares Reyna’s current beliefs.
Earlier that year, in February, Reyna was interviewed for Pittsburgh Music Magazine’s “The Girls of Metal” series. In it, she spoke about her Raiders superfan status but also her entertainment work as a member of KISSER, a Bay Area-based KISS tribute act, her appearance on Gene Simmons’s Family Jewels television show as a model during the Jeffrey Ross-hosted Roast of Gene Simmons in November 2007. The event ended up as a three-part episode for the show’s third season the following June.
Reyna posted photos from the 2007 roast on her “Metal Cindy” Facebook page — some still with “Getty Images” watermarks.
It appears that KISSER has not been active since 2014 and the act’s biography on Reverb does not show her name listed with the other members. However, she is mentioned when they won at the “Rock City Awards show for best Female fronted band in 2008.”
The Symphonic Heavy Metal Musician
On top of the KISS tribute act and while maintaining her appearances at games and events as “Metal Cindy,” Reyna has been a member of two symphonic heavy metal bands. Both no longer exist.
The first was Discordia, a San Francisco-based symphonic heavy metal band formed in 2011 that she shared with her then-husband Robert Cannon Jr. — the band later, in 2018, dissolved when their marriage did. They filed for separation in 2018 and their divorce finalized a year later.
Again, like her previous romantic partner, it does not appear Cannon Jr. shares her current beliefs.
LCRW reached out to Robert Cannon Jr. but did not hear back at press time.
In 2018 after Discordia’s dissolution, Cindy—and the band’s keyboardist Rebecca “Becca” McCabe—formed another symphonic heavy metal band called Erinyes, based out ofLos Angeles. That band has been inactive on social media since around 2022.
While it does not appear McCabe shares Reyna’s current beliefs, the band’s Instagram account does follow Powell’s account and vice-versa.
LCRW reached out to Rebecca McCabe but did not hear back at press time.
NAZI METAL
Most recently, as evident by her emails to LCRW, Reyna has entered, and been living in, the world of National Socialist Black Metal and the neo-Nazis that make up its ecosystem.
Reyna is Kyle Powell’s current romantic partner and has had a child since they’ve been together. Her “@metalcindyofficial” Instagram bio directly states that she is “KEPs lady.”
On June 22, 2023, Reyna first posted a photo of herself on Facebook wearing an Engorge shirt. Two months later, on Aug. 23, she posted a selfie in a K.E.P. Productions shirt. Two more months later, on Oct. 15, Reyna changed her profile picture to a selfie in an Engorge shirt.
Her “ @metalcinful” Tik Tok profile picture was of her and Powell.
The discovery of the @metalcinful account led LCRW to a post by clothing brand Morbid Empire depicting Reyna in one of their shirts and called her a “long time friend and vendor partner.” They added a link to Reyna’s production company, Metal Cinful Productions (MCP). While Morbid Empire seems to have a good relationship with Reyna, it would appear that they, and their other vendors, don’t share many, if any, of Reyna’s extreme beliefs; most of their products could be considered counterculture with a few being left-leaning ideals, like a pro-abortion t-shirt with the phrase “IF ABORTION IS MURDER THEN A BLOWJOB IS CANNIBALISM”.
According to Reyna’s social media, MCP was established in 2006 but it appears to have been inactive since 2009 when the venue it held most of its shows at, Fredo’s, a Mexican restaurant in L.A., closed down. The MCP Instagram and Facebook accounts were started in June of this year, nearly 15 years since the last show was booked. All of the photos on the account are re-uploads of old flyers for shows MCP put on in the past — some so old they have MySpace links attached to them.
The only flyer on the page that is not a re-upload is her post announcing she will be vending at the Autumn Equinox festival on the 26th. Reyna has several “businesses” and profiles for all of them, while this was posted under her MCP page she could show up under the banner of one of many different “businesses.”
Also regarding the upcoming festival, Reyna has posted in the “L.A Metal Shows – Official Group” on Facebook advertising that she’ll be selling merchandise for Destroyer 666, a band with far-right leanings and a history of playing shows with neo-Nazis.another neo-Nazi band. Likewise, Powell, in recent weeks, has been consistently promoting the album release show in the same group.
In the few days that LCRW researched and prepared this reporting, Reyna was tipped-off by a bandmate that we had reached out to for comment. On Oct. 21, she sent LCRW a third email—this time using a different email address—declaring that she had “law enforcement family” and would “press charges” in an attempt to cease our reporting.
In the following 24 hours, she has gone on a social media cleaning spree, changing her name—but not her username–on Facebook, editing her Instagram bio, and putting her Tik Tok account on private.
